Quick witted and sexy banter between these characters was perfect. The friendship building that became more.Coming off his divorce, Jeremy is a bit out of sorts. The friendship with Darren helps.They spend more and more time together.With most books I read, I tend to skim over the non-dialogue parts but not with this one. I read every word. I’m definitely getting this on audio when it comes out. It’s that good! It made me smile and laugh. Their relationship was just SO sweet and sexy. They TALKED and it was SO refreshing to have that, two mature people in a relationship. Communication is hot. Especially theirs. This book made my heart SO happy. I smiled so much.I highly recommend this book and series!SO amazing and definitely will go on my re-read list This was everything I needed. First I want to shout out for having a Black man as one of the MC’s. Black men MC’s are lacking in the M/M romance book world so it’s greatly appreciated and deserving of a shout out.This book was the second part of the series, and while it’s a different couple and could technically be read as a standalone, I don’t recommend it. Too many people and stories over lap in this book that you wouldn’t understand fully what’s happening.This author is one of my favorites because she can write great dialogue. Dialogue that doesn’t sound cheesy , has great banter yet carries the story. She didn’t disappoint here. Sometimes in life you meet the person you were suppose be with at the right time. This was J and D’s time. They started off as best friends of the previous book MC’s, then became best friends which turned into so much more. I love that Demi romantic was brought up. The aro spectrum isn’t talked about in books either so it was great watching someone find that part of them. The writing was great because I expect nothing less from this author, the smexy was hawt, and of course you loved the side character all of which were present in the previous book. The only complaint I have is the fact that it was like D never experienced any kind of hate before. That the homophobic people were the first time he had experienced anything like that. He’s a black man living in America you can’t tell me in all his years on earth he had never experienced that before. And while I didn’t want a black trauma book, while talking about the hate he was going to experience when he came out it could have been at least pointed out. Other than that, great story sad to see all of the characters both past and present go.
